Murk (Murk, the Cyberfox), born in Chernivtsi.

In 2021 he moved to Kharkiv, where he started developing local communities and organising meet-ups in person.
When the war began, he was forced to return to his native Chernivtsi, and suspended his activity in the furry community for personal reasons.

Currently, Murk has resumed his activity in the fandom and develops the community Furry Corridor of Ukraine.

Activity

In 2020, after reading articles on Reddit, he became interested in the furry fandom. Around early 2021 he ordered the first art of his fursona, and began his activity in the furry fandom in Kharkiv and Chernivtsi, where he organised the first furry meetup.

Soon afterwards he created his own chat — because the big “Furry Kharkiv” community at the time was full of people who were not from Kharkiv. He gathered like-minded people, organised meetups and cozy get-togethers at his home.

He created and developed the site furry.kh.ua (archived now, closed due to lack of demand), and furchat.net — together with Foxagon. Furchat.net was closed because it was impossible to maintain (the site was hosted on servers in Russia), and due to financial difficulties.

Activity during the war

At the start of the war he was forced to leave Kharkiv for security reasons and returned to Chernivtsi. There, together with his family, he volunteered and provided housing to displaced persons.

For personal reasons he temporarily stepped back from the furry community and concentrated on solving his own problems.

In 2025 he was contacted by Alex WereFox, who offered to revive the project FurMap under the umbrella of Furry Corridor of Ukraine. As the site development proceeded, a decision was made to scale up the project — and now the project has grown to the scale you see today.

Лютого 2026 року, по власному бажанню вступив до лав ЗСУ, та наразі є діючим військовим.

War-related stance

Murk has always opposed any aggression, and condemns the unjust war started by Russia against Ukraine — as well as condemns Russia as a whole. He publicly spoke out against Russian aggression and demanded a stop to the war on his social media.
On 24 February 2022 he was in Kharkiv and fully experienced what “Russian peace” is like. Murk has many people in his block list who were “Z-patriots” and offered pro-Russian narratives.

Although he speaks Russian in his everyday life and advocates tolerance toward Russian-speaking Ukrainians, he despises those who act to destroy Ukraine and its culture — and stands for native Ukrainisation of society.

At the end of 2022 he attempted to submit documents to leave Ukraine legally as a foreign university student — he was invited to the University of North Alabama, but in the end he was unable to leave legally. Later, he abandoned the idea of leaving Ukraine, and decided to stay — despite blackouts and inability to work or develop normally.

З січня 2025 по лютий 2026 Мурк знаходився у м. Ізмаїл, що на Одещинні. Замість виїзду з України обрав службу за контрактом, де він наразі і знаходиться. На жаль, через безпекові питання, більше інформації щодо діяльності Мурка у лавах ЗСУ надати не зможемо до кінця війни.
